The Data and Reporting Analyst serves University Advancement by applying the best data integrity and security practices while fulfilling internal customer requests for data extracts and email blasts. Duties include improving data integrity by analyzing databases used in Advancement Services, including Raiser's Edge and Mailchimp databases, as well as the Raiser's Edge data warehouse. The position will develop strategies to ensure accurate data entry, correct data integrity issues, and execute or implement those strategies to ensure data integrity in the databases used in Advancement Services. This position also provides help-desk support and data set troubleshooting while advising internal customers of data security concerns and regulations. The Office of Constituent Management & Technologies is responsible for all aspects of University Advancement's technological systems, including the Advancement database Raiser's Edge; programming, reporting and data analysis; systems maintenance and upgrades, training, help desk, and other computer and cell phone support services. In addition, to support the programmatic needs of University Advancement and our campus partners by providing computer systems services to facilitate communication with alumni, friends, and donors.

Education

Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in information technology, computer science, or related field. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
2 - 4 years of related experience. Required
Experience serving customers through a ticketing system Preferred
Experience with VB 6, VBA, or VB.NET, especially in conjunction with the Raiser's Edge API. Preferred
Experience with The Raiser's Edge or a similar Advancement database. Preferred
Experience in a fundraising environment, preferably in a higher education setting. Preferred
Demonstrated experience in complex data validation and correction. Required
Experience with creating email blasts in Mailchimp or similar software Preferred
Experience developing reports from a SQL database using SQL Server Reporting Services and querying with T- SQL. Required

Has effective written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain knowledge of current technologies.
Demonstrates reasoning and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making; problem identification and resolution; identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance through application configuration and programming techniques.
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge relating to capacity planning and interface specifications.
Intermediate database management operations and knowledge of department rules and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of relational database structures and techniques.
Knowledge of database management systems and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

An understanding of the operations of a university Advancement department.

Proficiency in delivering presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Familiarity with Advancement terminology.
