Position Information
This position provides analytical and financial support to the Department of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health (SMPPH) and Center for Healthy Communities (CHC) programs and research grants. The support includes daily support of contracts and grants research activity and financial duties. Position will assist financial administrative officer (FAO) in monitoring and forecasting department and center budgets.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.
Ability to function as a member of a team.
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.
Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments.
Ability to deal with complex, confidential and sensitive issues related to the management of files.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Independent judgment, customer service focus, and ability to research and make informed decisions.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines. Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety. Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Some knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems.
Ability to function as a member of a team.
