Position Information
Under the direction of the CHASS Facilities Director, the Theater Production Supervisor is responsible for the planning, development, oversight, reporting, and coordination of all relevant resources staff/facilities/instruments/equipment/funds) to assure the highest caliber production of approximately 100 annual public functions within the University Theatre. Primary constituents include the Academic Departments of Dance, Music and Theatre, UCR Cultural Events, UCR Student Affairs Administration, UCR Alumni Affairs and the Office of the Chancellor. The Theatre Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily and special event usage of the University Theatre recharge facility. The Theatre Production Supervisor exercises diplomacy and complex problem-solving skills, working to balance the educational mission, the needs of varying constituents, and the artistic goals of faculty sponsors and Artistic Directors within agreed upon resource limits, while maintaining a congenial and open environment. This is a hands-on position; which requires the incumbent to perform technical tasks such as lighting design, run sound boards, advises students and other users of lighting, sound and other audiovisual equipment as well as supervises the work of others. Coordinates building access, maintain equipment inventories and space surveys, serves as lighting designer for productions, supervises designated lighting, sound, AV and front-of-house as well as the Box Office operations. Supervises two career staff and hire/train/supervises student crew, annually. Responsibility for safety of operations; adherence to fire regulations; and storage and security of equipment and facilities. Work schedule varies based on Theater events. University production and management experience highly desirable.

Minimum Requirements
Strong problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills.
Mastery level knowledge in multiple technical theater production areas such as lighting, sound, video, costumes, hair/make-up,properties, scenery, scenic treatment, etc
Strong knowledge/skills in all aspects of financial and personnel administration.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to communicate complex instructions and information to disparate constituencies.
