Position Information

University Communications provides campus leadership in planning, coordinating, and implementing communications programs that foster increased awareness, understanding, and support of UC Riverside's mission, vision, accomplishments, and needs among its many internal and external constituencies. Under minimal supervision, the video production manager will shoot, edit, and create assets for high-quality video projects to be distributed via various UC Riverside channels. This position works independently to conceptualize and craft creative videos to advance UCR's brand and support the university’s strategic objectives.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.

Please note that applicants may be required to submit a work sample as part of the selection process. Additionally, the budgeted amount for this position is up to $83,000. This position is eligible for hybrid accommodations.

Minimum Requirements

Proficiency with the creation of video graphics in Premiere and After Effects.
Thorough creative skills.
Thorough knowledge of various types of programming.
Thorough knowledge of the campus including its mission, vision, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure, including strong knowledge of principles, policies and procedures, including risk assessment and evaluation of risk likelihood and consequences.
Must be dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
Experience with audio finishing in Adobe Audition and Premier.
Thorough knowledge of news, current events, or other relevant types of programming.
Proficiency with video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and rigging.
Experience with camera stabilizers such as a Glidecam or Movi.
Thorough knowledge/understanding of relevant technology, including methods of broadcast operations.
Proficiency in video editing using Adobe Premiere CC.
Ability to take direction for both videography and editing choices.
Proficiency in a Mac environment.
Thorough written, research, editing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Thorough organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with social media video content.

May require knowledge of broadcast operations.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Lightroom.

Knowledge of production trends, such as 360, VR, mini action cams, or aerial videography.
