Position Information

UCR University Extension is the learner-centered continuing education division of the University of California, Riverside and offers a wide range of programs designed to meet the needs of local, regional and global students and employers.

Assigned 50% to Osher Lifelong Learning and 50% to Degree Completion Programs, the grant-funded Programs Coordinator (On-Site/Hybrid) provides forward facing customer service, efficient program planning and coordination, and logistical event support for UCR University Extension and Palm Desert Center programs that serve a wide-range of learners at the Riverside campus.

This is a 2-year, grant-funded contract position with full benefits.

University Extension is a primarily remote working organization with staff who commute to campus for work as needed. Similarly, this remote position requires an incumbent with the ability to report for in-person work on campus as business needs dictate.

The budgeted hiring range for this position is $22.89 - $26.87 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Good analytical skills to understand how business needs can be addressed through the design and delivery of training programs.
Working knowledge of conducting needs assessment.
Working knowledge of current public education programs and trends.
Working skills to produce and deliver programs.
Good reading, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and good presentation skills.
Working knowledge of delivering public educational programs.
Ability to create remarkable customer service experiences and maintain a commitment to excellence in customer service.
Excellent ability to anticipate the needs of, respond to situations with flexibility and interact with a professional and welcoming demeanor to learners and staff. Ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative team environment and function as a supportive team member with academic and staff personnel at all levels.
Ability to assess complex situations, keep others informed and make decisions that benefit the organization. Ability to adapt to changing business needs, conditions and work responsibilities in a high volume environment. Ability to respond and remain flexible around changing priorities, fluctuating workloads and constant succession of inquiries.
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
Ability to organize complex projects including prioritizing, multi-tasking and tracking information while ensuring accuracy. Excellent time management and problem solving techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to speak with and listen perceptively to persons of various diverse backgrounds. Ability to network, cultivate and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to provide remarkable internal and external service, including skill in identifying perspectives and maintaining a commitment to excellence in service. Ability to listen, anticipate, and respond to the needs of the audience, clients and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of departmental and organization policies and procedures; knowledge of educational program content and objectives.
