Residency Determination System Analyst

Position Information

UC Riverside Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is searching for a Lead System Analyst! The successful candidate in this role will have the opportunity to work closely with University of California partners to develop and support the Residency Determination e-solution. The Residency Determination System Analyst will report to the Associate Director, Student Web Solutions and will serve as a key technical contact for the system-wide Residency Determination project. This position will be responsible for working with business partners (UCOP) to define the business problem, gather business requirements, formulate appropriate process and IT solutions, and deliver recommendations for improvements. The incumbent will work with business partners to confirm scope and understanding of project work priorities, coordinate project deliverables and establish timelines.

This position is an 18 MONTH CONTRACT position and is classified as remote with occasional visits to campus as needed. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). The maximum budgeted annual salary for the position is $139,150.

For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans.
Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Advanced knowledge of related areas of IT.
Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of data integration services.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, UML, UML Enterprise, et cetera.
Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.
Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of higher education student services.

Knowledge of applicable federal, UC, and UCR laws, rules, policies, and procedures as related to the responsibilities of the job.
