Position Information

The position provides support for the coordination and assistance for the Young Oak Kim (YOK) Center’s Mellon Humanities in Place grant covering the preservation and sharing the history of Pachappa Camp, the first-organized Korean American settlement in the United States. The Project Coordinator will be hired for a three-year term under the provisions of the Mellon Grant at a part-time appointment of 40.5%appointment (part-time). This position has a tentative end date at three years. However, it may be extended depending on the receipt of additional funding and workload needs. The budgeted salary for this position is $2,781.00 monthly. Factors used to determine salary offer include experience, education, and other business/organizational considerations. The Project Coordinator’s duties will include but are not limited to supporting the Pachappa Camp traveling art exhibit and the online digital exhibit. The Project Coordinator will work with the Registrar to prepare for the traveling exhibit by obtaining image licensing, purchasing books for onsite use, quotes on crating, shipping, etc. The Project Coordinator will also assist with light Public Relations and social media duties to help publicize the traveling art exhibit and the online website exhibit. The Project Coordinator will also work with the YOK Center PI, Graduate Student, and interns for the exhibit. The Project Coordinator will also help with administrative tasks related to the Mellon Grant requirements including but not limited to scheduling events, submitting for reimbursements/budgeting, obtaining quotes, and other paperwork as needed

Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operations activities such as events planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual and have competency in writing, reading, and speaking both English and Korean language.

Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
