Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Operations Support Commander, the Administrative Officer II provides administrative support to the Office of the Chief of the UCR Police Department, including scheduling, screening, reporting, processing of business, payroll, and administrative services. The Administrative Officer II will also conduct crime data analysis, crime trend mapping, property and evidence management, facility access management, and police identification card control. The expected pay for this role is between $60,760.80 - $70,000.00.

This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and as a CSA, persons in this role are required to report crimes, incidents, and disciplinary referral statistics as required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 USC 1092(f)). Required
This position is considered a mandatory reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), Penal Code 11164-11174.3 and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in University of California Policy CANRA. Required
Must have ability to complete and successfully pass law enforcement level background check. Required

Minimum Requirements

Exceptional communication skills to interact verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to produce memos, reports, letters, and email messages in a clear, concise, logical and grammatically correct manner.
Ability to resolve conflict and effectively work with members of the public who may be agitated.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively develop and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to deliver presentations to department staff and the community.
Must be able work independently yet coordinate with co-workers and supervision.
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects as well as routine work in an environment of heavy workload, deadline pressures and frequent interruptions.
Demonstrated flexibility in adjusting priorities and assignments as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the Police Department.
Expertise using spreadsheet applications, word-processing software and database systems.
Perform a variety of technical and specialized duties with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with operational transactions and communications.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of crime analysis/mapping systems.

Knowledge of property and evidence laws, rules, regulations, protocols, policies, and procedures.

Working knowledge and understanding of the criminal and civil judicial systems.

Knowledge and understanding of the reporting requirements and crime categories of the Jeanne Clery Act.
