Financial Analyst I

Position Information

The Financial Analyst will provide financial analytical support for the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) Dean's office. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and contribute as a team member to the CNAS Dean's Office financial team. This role requires the incumbent to perform mid-level analysis and ad-hoc reports to support the dean's office in support of all financial operations. Incumbent must be familiar with best practices for completing moderately complex analyses including strong Excel skills coupled with the ability to manage & navigate large data sets utilizing a range of campus systems and analytic tools. Above all, the position requires a natural curiosity for "how things work" and an adventurous sense of flexibility along with a solid understanding of financial mechanics.

Minimum Requirements

Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Basic interpersonal skills; broad service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Under management guidance, uses organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Acquiring ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
Basic proficiency using spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
