Position Information

Serve as Athletic Trainer to UCR's Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Athletic programs. Supervise, under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director/Sports Medicine and Performance, team physicians, and the Athletics Director, the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for approximately 325 student-athletes competing in 17 Division I sports at UCR. Supervise, organize, and make referrals to appropriate medical personnel. Manage student athletes' medical insurance information for billing and referral purposes. Recondition and rehabilitate athletes on referral from physicians through the use of appropriate physical and therapeutic modalities. Regularly inform coaches on the status of injured athletes. Assist in the daily operation of the Sports Medicine Department. Assist in the development and supervision of an instruction program of athletic training for athletic training students and student interns/assistants/volunteers.

The full salary range for the Athletic Trainer is $64,300.00 - $110,000.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $64,300.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. Minimum Requirements

Thorough knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
Strong manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine.
Thorough ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and complete assignments within required timelines.
Computer skills in programs relevant to job duties.

Thorough skills associated with athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques, as well as of first-aid, athletic equipment, and injury assessment and treatment.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
Strong skills necessary to communicate verbally and in writing.
Strong ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with others, including athletes, team physicians, faculty, staff and others in the athletic department.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatments.
For positions associated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Knowledge of procurement function and campus budget requirements relating to athletic equipment and supplies.
