Position Information
Under the direction of the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, the Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach plans and conducts a daily practice and competition schedule for the sprint event athletes including 100m, 200m, 400m, and both sprint relays. Travel for competition out of town for multiple meets approximately 12-16 days each year, including weekends. Identify and recruit qualified sprint events student-athletes who can receive regular admission with the university. Assists the Assistant Coach in charge of meet management for all home Track & Field and Cross Country competitions. Comply with all NCAA and Big West conference rules and regulations; manage all compliance activities including NCAA Time Management, CARA logs, and recruiting logs for sprint event athletes.

The full salary range for the Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach is $38,700.00 - $61,900.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $38,700.00 - $44,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Vaccination Program Policy.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with athletic participants.
Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity, as well as basic technical expertise in coaching principles.
Demonstrated effective problem solving and communication skills, verbally and in writing.
Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
