Position Information
The Medical Scribe (per diem) will perform duties that are directly related to the physical care of patients in an in-patient and/or out-patient facility. The primary responsibility is to listen and record confidential conversations between the provider and patients in the electronic medical record.
The expected work schedule for this position is Monday and Thursday mornings. This is a Per Diem appointment. Per Diem appointments are paid hourly and have variable schedules. This appointment is expected to be 25% time but will not exceed 43%. The successful candidate will be placed within range on Step 8 for $23.49 an hour.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, faculty, residents, nurses, students, university representatives, patients and the public
Speedy and accurate typing skills.
Ability to handle confidential material while protecting its strict confidentiality
Ability to perform and multi-task under the pressure of frequent interruptions and distractions
Ability to organize and track multiple records and requests and follow through in a timely manner
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
