Data Analyst IV - Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity

Position Information

As part of the Office of Faculty and Staff Affirmative Action (OFSAA) leadership team, this position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Excellence and Equity and Assistant Vice Chancellor/ Director of OFSAA and to the Associate Director of OFSAA to form a team to implement a new data-driven initiative that places data management and data systems as the core strategic initiative for maintaining the University's affirmative action federal regulatory and legal compliance; and developing proactive strategies to promote diversity. This position is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the OFSAA's affirmative action management data system initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Education/experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree with a background in math, statistics, research or appropriate field

Six years of demonstrated related experience or an equivalent combination of college education and related experience

Strong understanding of affirmative action reporting requirements and statistical methodologies

Theoretical knowledge of, and practical experience with, advanced statistics including multiple regression, analysis of variance and statistical significance tests

Demonstrated extensive experience using computerized statistical packages, e.g., SPSS or SAS

Demonstrated ability to organize large volumes of data to develop/maintain systems for retrieving and querying information from various sources

Extensive experience in extracting data from various sources and maintaining up-to-date information

Experience interpreting legal and technical documents to determine institutional compliance

Research skills, including experience in qualitative and quantitative methodology. Skill in writing concise and logical analytical or narrative reports

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse body of faculty, staff and administrators and strong verbal and written communication skills; including presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Research or appropriate field

Demonstrated skill in designing and developing relational databases, analyzing business requirements and implementing technology solutions to support business functions

Supervisory experience and the ability to guide, direct and evaluate others

Experience working in Affirmative Action or Human Relations office or equivalent

Experience in developing and presenting workshops and training, and in creating training materials
