Position Information

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of California, Riverside offers a nationally-ranked MBA program that is also on the list of "10 Business Schools with the Most International Students". This AACSB-accredited school is one of the fastest growing business graduate schools in Southern California. Our graduate school offers a full-time Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Flex MBA, Master of Professional Accounting (MPAc) and Master of Finance (MFin) programs. In addition, a PhD program, The Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Management, began in Fall 2011.

The Senior Associate Director of Graduate Programs, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Director, will provide vision and leadership to the design, organization, development and implementation of a rapidly growing Graduate Program. This position will lead the development of strategies and objectives to increase the quality of applications and meet the enrollment goals (established by the Dean) for all Graduate programs at the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management.

The Senior Associate Director of Graduate Programs in collaboration with the Director is responsible for the oversight of the recruitment for domestic and international students, enrollment and admission outreach, financial aid and delivery of student services to provide domestic and international graduate students a quality experience and education.

The Senior Associate Director of Graduate Programs manages the Graduate Program Student Affairs Officer 2 staff and the application processing procedure for a successful Graduate Program. The Senior Associate Director of Graduate Programs acts with a great degree of independence.

Minimum Requirements

1. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree in related field with three to five years demonstrated progressive program management experience at an institution of higher learning or bachelor's degree and minimum ten years of progressive management experience at an institution of higher learning.

2. Demonstrated success in developing and/or growing self-supporting programs. Skills to identify, analyze, and propose effective programs, projects, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.

3. Demonstrated ability to supervise and carry out comprehensive management responsibilities in a complex, fast-paced, results-oriented working environment, including program development, performance management and policy management/development. Demonstrated ability to motivate staff, create teamwork environment and resolve conflict in a professional, respectful manner.

4. Ability to build relationships and manage complex, highly visible services for graduate students, alumni, donors, and employers for the overall success and reputation of the Anderson School of Business.

5. Demonstrated high-level strategic planning and analytical skills with the ability to establish and articulate goals, strategies, tactics, and benchmarks. Ability to actively engage staff in this process and to elicit their support for goals, strategies, etc.

6. Understanding of Graduate Program marketplaces and corporate environment. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of local, national and internationally-oriented professional occupations, job search methodologies, and current employment trends.

7. Ability to make recommendations regarding high profile, politically sensitive problems and issues.

8. Ability to demonstrate and offer original thinking and judgment as well as innovative application of policy, situational solutions and/or applicable-field principles.

9. Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills, including presentation skills, to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and enhance delivery of services to students and alumni.

10. Extensive, comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, data management, software, email and the Internet.
