Position Information

Undergraduate Admissions is committed to providing the highest level of service to prospective students, their families and educators, and attracting, selecting, and enrolling a highly diverse and academically accomplished student body. Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist is responsible for the implementation of all electronic and print communication plans, and coordinating multiple recruitment and yield events for prospective freshmen and transfer students (domestic and non-resident), their families, and educators. The incumbent will also provide direct supervision to four (4) Marketing Interns, who oversee social media campaigns, data entry, and event support.

Budgeted hiring range for this position: $40,159 - $45,500

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or prior experience as a professional level student affairs officer; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience planning and executing small and large scale events.
3. Superior oral and written communications skills, as well as interpersonal and motivational skills, to maintain and/or establish positive working relationships with vendors, current and prospective students, and their families.
4. Knowledge of higher educational institutions, particularly the University of California and its basic requirements for admission.
5. Skill and ability in preparing concise reports and evaluations.
6. Basic computer skills.
7. Ability to supervise student workers.
8. Experience developing and adhering to complex event budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate statistical data.
2. Knowledge of University Policy and Procedure with respect to events and marketing
