Position Information

The University of California, Riverside School of Medicine seeks a talented, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our medical school as the Director, Facilities and Space Planning.

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean/Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for the School of Medicine, the Director of Facilities and Space Planning is responsible for the development of a long-range strategic facilities plan for the School of Medicine, incorporating the short and long range facilities needs in all mission areas of the school which includes: education, research, clinical and administration. Responsibilities will include planning for all SOM capital projects, from initial planning, managing environmental review processes, working on projects with varied financing, liaison with city/county/state issues related to facilities development, and coordinating with campus counterparts throughout the process as required.

The UCR School of Medicine is the sixth school of medicine in the University of California system and the first public medical school on the West Coast in more than 40 years. The school is community based and has the distinctive mission of training a diverse physician workforce and developing research and healthcare delivery programs to improve the health of medically underserved populations in the Inland Empire region of California. The medical school also offers a Ph.D. program in biomedical sciences, and operates residency training programs in the internal medicine, psychiatry, family medicine, primary care pediatrics (in partnership with Loma Linda University), and a cardiovascular fellowship program (in partnership with St. Bernardine Medical Center).
