Position Information
The Director of African Student Programs provides leadership, guidance, and oversees programs for the African Student Programs office on the UCR campus. The Director oversees the support and development of programs and services promoting the academic, social and cultural well being of UC Riverside's students of African descent and provides the general campus with the opportunity to increase its awareness of African/African-American experience. Under the direction of the Asst Dean of Students, this position manages social, cultural and educational events. This is a critical position for the campus that establishes relationships with all student organizations, provides individual and clubs non-academic advising and referrals. The Director hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of African Student Programs professional program staff, and provides clear expectations regarding their professional performance.
