The Office of Title IX, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (Title IX/EOAA) is dedicated to the prevention and remediation of discrimination and harassment, and to promoting and integrating the principles of equal opportunity, affirmative action and inclusive excellence at UCR. Title IX/EOAA is responsible for UC Riverside's compliance with federal and state laws and University and campus policies and procedures regarding discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including the UC Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment (SVSH Policy). The Complaint Resolution Officer supports this mission by addressing reports and concerns of discrimination and harassment on the basis of any protected category or characteristic including sex, gender, race, color, national origin, religion, disability, citizenship, genetic information or medical condition, military service/protected veteran status, and age. The Complaint Resolution Officer works as part of a team under the leadership of the Title IX Officers, participating in case triage and review and conducting alternative resolutions and formal investigations. The Officer also supports prevention and education efforts and other affirmative action/EO programs.

Minimum Requirements

Basic knowledge of laws and regulations related to other forms of discrimination and harassment in the educational or employment setting.
Ability to gather and organize information, conduct analysis, and develop recommendations in the completion of assignments; critical thinker.
Basic knowledge of laws and regulations related to sexual harassment in the educational or employment setting, or of substantially similar laws and regulations.
Basic knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conducting investigations, including interviewing, gathering and analyzing evidence, and writing investigation reports.
Basic knowledge of the complexities of harassment in the educational or employment setting.
Basic understanding of the relevance of trauma in the context of sexual violence (for example, the neurobiology of trauma and trauma-informed investigation techniques).
Ability to gather, organize, complete analysis and develop recommendations in the completion of assignments.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups. Skills in coalescing viewpoints and facilitating outcomes in group settings.
