Position Information

To assist physicians and professional nursing staff in providing care and treatment of patients. To maintain and clean equipment. Manages scheduling of all the Medical Assistants scheduling and covering staff shortages.

This posting is for two per diem positions and will be for a year long appointment. The position may ben extended if there is available funding at that time. Per Diem Appointments may be scheduled on a pre-scheduled basis or as needed on a day-to-day basis or called off from a pre-established schedule as determined by the University.

Experience

Experience working with physicians, nurses and patients in a medical back-office setting and have the ability to manage simultaneous tasks. Required
Minimum of two years' experience performing back office duties. Preferred
Minimum of two years outpatient primary care clinic experience at a University setting. Preferred
Supervisory experience. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Current Vocational Nurse License.
Current CPR certification as well as: Injection, EKG, and phlebotomy and IV certification.
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
Demonstrated knowledge of instruments and supplies needed to perform various examinations and procedures including preparation of specimens to attain accurate laboratory results. Knowledge of fundamentals of asepisis and sterile techniques, basic bacteriology and infection and disease control. Have the ability to prepare patients for examinations and minor surgeries. Demonstrated ability to administer CPR and medication.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to work quickly and accurately.
Ability to be an effective and cooperative member of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity, to respect rights and to comply with HIPAA regulations and to show respect for patients with diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles.
Knowledge of medical records procedures and have the ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician or nurse practitioner.
Physical ability to safely lift and move 40 pounds and reach above head
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity to perform the required clinical duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University computer systems and polices.
