Position Information
The Mentorship Coordinator is responsible for management of the Graduate Student Mentorship Program (GSMP) within GradSuccess. Under the direction of the GradSuccess Director, the Coordinator is responsible for selection and orientation of the mentee cohort and provision of small group mentoring support by peer and faculty mentors throughout the mentees’ first year of graduate study. Hires, trains, and supervises graduate student support, selects faculty mentors, maintains records, and collaborates with other departments. Provides program support for marketing, data analysis and assessment. Hiring range is up to $62,000 depending on experience. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and presentation skills.
Skills in judgment and decision-making.
Develops knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural issues in applying academic support for students.
Develops knowledge of current and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific; student-population specific).
Ability to communicate information in small and large group settings.
Multicultural competencies; knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Proficient computer skills including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and web-based systems.
