Community Health Education Projects Coordinator

Position Information

Please note that the maximum budgeted amount for this position is $72,000 annually.

The Community Health Education Projects Coordinator will provide participants with opportunities to learn about and experience medicine, social determinants of health, health disparities and service in medically underserved communities. Will provide direction and oversee participants community health education projects providing guidelines and reviewing project proposals for K-12, undergraduate and post baccalaureate students. The incumbent's primary responsibility is to coordinate community health education projects and lectures across Pathway Programs including Medical Leaders of Tomorrow, Future Physician Leaders, JumpStart and Mini Medical School. Serves as an advisor for Mini Medical School and coordinates Health Coach Program (HCP), a joint program between the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine and Riverside University Health System. As coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for developing an annual outreach plan to recruit undergraduate volunteers to serve as health coaches for HCP. Acts as coordinator for the community health education projects for Future Physician Leaders, Mini Medical School, Medical Leaders of Tomorrow and JumpStart.

Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Required

Thorough knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs.

Ability to maintain cooperative professional relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, teachers and community contacts.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations related to the responsibilities of the position including Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Ability to maintain confidentiality of extremely sensitive and confidential patient, student and employee information.
Ability to maintain cooperative professional relationships with faculty, physicians, health care personnel and administrators.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to speak Spanish fluently.

Knowledge of an experience working with UC or UCR policies, procedures and business systems.
