Position Information
Fellowship applications will be accepted through January 31, 2023. The fellowship year begins in August of the following year. Interested persons will apply online by filling out an application and uploading a resume, a cover letter which includes expected graduation date, and a statement of purpose.
Completion of a Master's degree before the beginning of the fellowship is required. Our selection process aims for a diverse set of skills, backgrounds, and experiences. No formal professional experience is health care is required beyond education.
Preference is given to candidates with ties to the Inland Empire of Southern California and demonstrated commitment to the UCR School of Medicine mission.
Interviews for the fellowship will commence in early 2023 with offers made in early spring for an August start date.
The School of Medicine Administrative Fellowship program seeks masters-prepared individuals who wish to develop their management and leadership skills in a fast-paced medical school environment. Fellows participate in projects and activities that build and strengthen essential administrative skills. Under the close supervision of the Director of Faculty Development and the Chief Financial and Administrative Office in the School of Medicine (SOM), this position will perform administrative and analytical duties in support of SOM operations. The duration of the position is 12 months. Fellows participate in projects and activities that build and strengthen essential administrative skills. Fellows for academic year 2023/2024 will rotate six months in a clinical department and six months in an administrative department. Fellows will complete projects during their rotation and will attend monthly didactic sessions. The budgeted salary amount for this position is up to $55,000/yr.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.
