Simulation Operations Specialist

Position Information

Under the supervision of the Director of Simulation Operations, the Simulation Operations Specialist (SOS) is expected to provide educational and technical support for all simulation events at the Center for Simulated Patient Care (CSPC). This position exists to provide technical support for all simulation center operations. This includes the preparation, operation, programming, maintenance and the repair of high-fidelity simulators, task trainers and audiovisual equipment. The SOS will also be responsible for clinical supply maintenance, contacting vendors for technical support and inventory tracking. Incumbent may be required to role-play as a simulated healthcare provider in certain simulation scenarios. In addition to operating the simulators and other simulated equipment, the SOS will provide support to the users of the CSPC, which includes administrative support and research initiatives to help further the educational mission of the CSPC. Additionally, verifying and documenting equipment use and session attendance is expected. Other duties as assigned. The budgeted salary for this position is up to $70,900.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

Experience in ACLS, BLS and PALS Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
