Position Information

Involves planning, implementing, and evaluating health education and promotional programs to improve community health and prevent illness. The budgeted salary range for this position is $56,800 - $99,200/yr.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

Education Requirements

Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Sociology, or Public Policy. Preferred
Master of Public Health or Master of Philosophy in Public Health, Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Medical Science in Public Health. Preferred

Licenses

License Requirement
Driver License Preferred

Certifications

Certification Requirement
Certified in Public Health (CPH), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
2 - 4 years of related experience. Required

Special Conditions

Special Condition Requirement
Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Required

Minimum Requirements

Effective interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
Working knowledge of the health promotion and education field.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Working knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs.
Ability to acquire the requisite skills to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs.
Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services.
Exceptional ability to achieve sustainable health education and promotion program results.
Design health education and promotional materials and aids including flyers, videos, audio clips, images, etc.
Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Familiar with conducting assessments and surveys to determine health education needs.
Knowledge or health education and promotion programs, policies, and trends.
Developing health communication plans and delivery methods for partners.
Engaging coalitions of stakeholders to address community health issues and promote advocacy.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual-English/Spanish.
