Collection Logistics Coordinator

Position Information

Under the direction of the Collection Maintenance Manager, the Collection Logistics Coordinator will perform and supervise daily Collection Logistics workflow functions, provide public service, work collaboratively to develop best practices and participate in projects and committees to further streamline and enhance the work of the Collection Strategists and collaborate with Collection Maintenance staff on collection accession and deaccession projects. Assists with the supervision, training, evaluating, and hiring of Collection Maintenance student employees as designated. Oversees all student work and workflow for library-wide projects such as the Google books project and large-scale shifting projects. Responsible for adhering to external library storage requirements for the University of California (UCR) library materials. The budgeted salary range for this position is $52,450.56 -$68,799.60/yr.

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm.

This position is designated as a Mandated Reporter and will be required to complete trainings and comply with CANRA. Must pass FBI/Department of Justice background check.

Minimum 2 years experience working in a library, other academic setting, or equivalent experience. Required
Demonstrated experience using an integrated library management system (ILMS). Required
Experience directing the work of others. Required
Experience updating bibliographic and item records and creating item records in an ILMS. Preferred
Academic library experience. Preferred
Demonstrated experience using the Library of Congress classification system to shelve or organize books. Preferred
Demonstrated experience using spreadsheet, word processing, and database programs. Preferred
Demonstrated experience supervising-including hiring, training, and evaluating-student employees, staff, or volunteers. Required
Demonstrated experience using an integrated library management system such as ALMA or similar to edit/create bibliographic, item, and holding records for library materials in all formats. Required

Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and push loaded book trucks weighing up to approximately 250 lbs. Required

Minimum Requirements

Ability to use judgment in applying or creating appropriate guidelines to specific tasks and to make decisions.
Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, team-based work environment.
Ability to apply special attention to detailed tasks.
Skill in using tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide variety of people and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with library staff, student assistants, and patrons in person, via email, over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated skill in organizing, monitoring, and setting priorities for a heavy workload with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to work with large amounts of data form an ILMS or similar database, including exporting data and working with analytics.
