Aquatics Coordinator

Position Information

Under the general direction of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the overall management of the Recreation Department aquatic complex, associated programs, daily operations, staffing, and maintenance of sports and recreational equipment.

The full salary range for the Aquatics Coordinator position is $21.89 - $36.35 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $21.89 - $25.96 per hour.
 
We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Education

Education Requirements

Degree Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent certification. Preferred
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Preferred

Certifications

Certification Requirement
Certification to instruct in the applicable recreational sports program or equivalent experience. Preferred
Red Cross CPR. Preferred
Standard First Aid Training Certification. Preferred
Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid for Lifeguards/CPRo Required
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Preferred
Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Preferred
Advanced First Aid (Title 22, EMR, or EMT) Preferred

Conditions

Condition Requirement
Obtain Red Cross Title 22 certification within 12 months of appointment date. Required
Obtain Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor within 12 months of appointment date. Required
Obtain Red Cross Water Safety Instructor within 12 months of appointment date. Required

Experience

2 - 4 years of related experience. Required

Special Conditions

Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check. Required
Ability to work overtime when business needs arise. Required
Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required
Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Preferred
Night and weekend schedule - Monday-Friday 10am-7pm - Hours may fluctuate to meet department needs, including the weekends. Travel may be required to attend professional development activities. Required
Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Specialized knowledge of program activity and industry best practices.
Service orientation, program management, sound judgment and decision-making, critical thinking, development of original ideas, and creative problem solving skills.
Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
Leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization, internally and externally.
Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills to resolve issues.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
